Is it safe to use teeth whiteners (such as the strips or those stands in the mall)?
I have been looking at my teeth and decided that I want them whiter. Is it safe to use those white strips or solutions that you paint on your teeth. Also are those stations that are set up in the mall, are those safe to use? Can there be possible side effects for these methods.
What brand of whiteners have you used effectively?
Oh man, I have horror stories about this subject haha. General rule of thumb…Anything you get off the shelf is not going to be too harmful. I bought some ‘extra strength’ whitening products off the internet and it sure did whiten my teeth, but it also killed my gums…they were gray and dark red for weeks. They also made my teeth REALLY sensative for a week or two.
I have been using crest whitening strips from that day on (I don’t like looking like someone out of a horor movie) and I have had absolutly no problems with them. Esentially they are bleaching your teeth slowly. Just don’t rush the process, like wear one right after another, this will make your teeth sensative and hurt when you eat/drink hot or cold things.
But yeah, the strips are pretty straight forward to use. Just pop em in, wait 10-15 minutes, take them out, rinse your mouth and you’re set
